The Tunnel’s 2013 Federal Election form guide
0The 2013 Federal election race – or the race for Hot Stephanie – is about to begin. What do the punters like and who will win?
Here, ladies and gentleman, is the Tunnel’s form guide for the key runners.
A New Way (K. Rudd) [Labor stable]
Rudd is back on board after three year lay-off and returns to the scene of his greatest triumph. Has turned around alarming form slump since use of more aggressive tactics. Big danger.
Choose Real Change (T. Abbott) [Coalition stable]
Long-time favourite who has been set for this race. Has been talked up as a certainty over last 12 months but rider is still to win at this level. Should win if handles the pressure.
What Tony Said (W. Truss) [Coalition stable]
Fading second-stringer from the Coalition stable. Joyce likely to take reins if fails to perform this time.
Balance of Power (C. Milne) [Australian Greens stable]
Erratic peformer and still very green. Will be popular with punters looking away from the two favourites.
Bringingpeopletogether (C. Palmer) [Palmer United stable]
Lacks experience and has a lot of weight. Stable is confident of a big performance but would prefer to see.
The Kat in the Hat (B. Katter) [Katter Australia stable]
Bush champ who never gives up. Could surprise.
Where’s Natasha? (No rider announced) [Democrats stable]
Despised outsider who is light of other days. Stable will be happy just to make the field.
Hokey Pokie (N. Xenophon) [Independent stable]
Free running South Australian runner with loyal following. Bound to be prominent at some stage of the race.
Who do you fancy, punters?
