Premier Anna Bligh has defended the sale of government show bags at this year’s Ekka.
“My Labor government has got a lot to give Queenslanders,” said the Premier.
“And we’re not just selling a message that people can get anywhere. We’re selling some really awesome stuff.”
The contents of the controversial ALP “grab bags” change from day to day.
However, they are said to include a mask of stoicism, a collection of expensive (albeit hastily-constructed) policy initiatives and bits of Queensland Rail.
Opposition refuses to support government show bags
Opposition Leader Campbell Newman said that the Liberal National Party would not condone the selling of show bags.
The LNP would instead contribute to the Ekka by taking Queenslanders for a ride.
