Libyan rebels have announced that Liberal National Party leader Campbell Newman will head the new transitional Libyan government.
“We need to parachute somebody into the leadership who has a can-do attitude and who can give our chaotic outfit instant credibility. Mr Newman is that man.”
The fact that Mr Newman has no governmental experience outside of Brisbane local politics was not considered a drawback.
“There is no real difference between Libyan national politics and Liberal National politics.”
“Like Queensland, we are happy to have an ornamental leader in parliament whilst Mr Newman attends to the important business of rebuilding our ravaged state.”
Newman up for the challenge
Mr Newman is excited about leading the transitional Libyan government and seeing Tripoli’s extensive tunnel network firsthand.
Mr Newman also hopes to introduce other Brisbane programs to Libya as soon as possible.
“The City Cycle scheme is an obvious choice. Tripoli is very flat now and, unlike Brisbane, everyone has helmets.”
Recruitment firm, Ked Hunt International, has begun a search for a replacement leader for the Liberal National Party.
The ideal candidate is said to be someone with integrity and no previous connection with the Liberal National Party.
