In the ultimate act of betrayal, Coldplay singer Chris Martin stands accused of sharing Jennifer Lawrence photos on social media.
After the theft of the actor’s private photos by a hacker, the sharing of images of Jennifer Lawrence has become the biggest sin of 2014.
So much so, the internet is now awash with articles ordering people to unfriend or unfollow anyone who shares Jennifer Lawrence photos on social media.
After news spread that Chris Martin had shared private photos of Jennifer Lawrence with friends, the internet went in for the kill.
In the space of 24 hours, nearly 1 million people unfollowed Chris Martin on Twitter.
The singer has defended his use of the images saying that he and Jennifer Lawrence are dating.
However, the majority of the public – and Martin’s former wife Gwyneth Paltrow – have dismissed the singer’s claim as laughable.
Anger about Jennifer Lawrence photos spreads
The residents of Lawrence’s hometown Louisville, Kentucky were so outraged by Martin’s actions that locals torched an MP3 player containing Coldplay songs.
Australian youth broadcaster Triple J has also announced that their previous decision to not play Coldplay because they’re no longer cool will be replaced by a decision to not play Coldplay because Chris Martin shared Jennifer Lawrence photos on social media.
The Coldplay singer is said to be distraught – again – at being misunderstood.
Close friends say that Martin has retreated to his English manor house to write an album’s worth of lyrics about the incident.
