In a bold bid to win back the Ashes, Cricket Australia has transferred care of the touring squad to record-breaking horse trainer Chris Waller.
“It’s time to think outside the square,” said Cricket Australia’s Expectations Management Manager, Amanda Boone.
“Mickey Arthur has done a great job as coach but unfortunately he hasn’t been able to get the best out of some of the animals in our team.”
“That’s why we’ve turned to Chris Waller.”
“Chris has proved over the last couple of seasons that no one can turn around an underperforming international as well as he can.”
Even after a short time in charge, Waller is confident that he can get Australia winning again.
“There’s not a lot of difference between an international racehorse and an international cricketer,” said Waller.
“One of my best horses Kellini has been playing Connect Four with David Warner and Dave has actually won a few games, which is pretty heartening.”
“It shows I’ve got something to work with.”
