Sales of Tony Abbott’s Battlelines have surged after it was revealed that the book was actually written by Harry Potter author, JK Rowling.
Rowling, who had planned to publish a series of political books, confessed to the authorship of the Tony Abbott book after a friend of Margie Abbott let slip the secret on Twitter.
“I had hoped to keep this secret a little longer,” said Rowling, “because being Tony Abbott has been such a liberating experience.”
“It’s been wonderful to publish without hype or expectation and a pleasure to get feedback under a different name.”
Following the revelation of Rowling’s authorship, sales of Battlelines have increased by a staggering 500,000%.
Abbott apologised for the deception but explained that it was the best way to communicate the Coalition’s political vision.
“I would have struggled to write 20 pages,” confessed Abbott.
“There are only so many times you can write that whatever the Labor government is doing sucks.”
“Thanks to JK Rowling, the Coalition now has some policies and a voice that people are actually willing to listen to.”
