Former Russian president and recently announced LNP candidate, Dmitry Medvedev, has agreed to assume the role of ceremonial Premier should Campbell Newman fail to win the seat of Ashgrove in the coming election.
Campaigning in his safe LNP electorate, Medvedev stressed that he was willing to do whatever it takes to ensure Newman leads the state.
“Obviously, I’m a pragmatist,” said Medvedev.
“I’ve done what the bald headed tyrant says in the past, I’ll do what the bald headed tyrant says in the future.”
Medvedev also defended LNP campaign photographs showing a shirtless Newman putting out bushfires and flying military aircraft.
“We have a saying in Russia.”
“Put-in or you’ll be put-out.”
“Campbell, he’s a real put-in guy. You can protest all you like about what he is doing now but in a month’s time you will all be…”
“I mean, sorry, no further questions.”
