Miranda Jacaranda campaign a blooming success for Brisbane
0Tourism Brisbane has announced that this year’s Brisbane jacaranda season has been a blooming great success.
According to Tourism Brisbane’s Ted Hollowbone, the city’s beautiful purple jacaranda blossoms are fast challenging Uluru and the Sydney Opera House as the must-see sight in Australia.
“It’s hard to get exact figures on how many people have looked at jacaranda trees in Brisbane this season,” said Mr Hollowbone.
“But on any fair estimate, it’s gotta be in the millions.”
Mr Hollowbone said a key factor in the success of this year’s Brisbane jacaranda season was the involvement of international supermodel Miranda Kerr.
“We’ve tried a racy jacaranda campaign in the past. This year we wanted to take a classier approach so we enlisted a stone cold fox, Miranda Kerr, as our jacaranda ambassador.”
Mr Hollowbone said that he “literally wet himself” when Miranda Kerr agreed to change her name to Jacaranda Kerr for a day.
“Townsville might have trumped Brisbane when the Cowboys beat the Broncos but we trumped the world with all the media coverage we got with Jacaranda Kerr!”
