The LNP Government has announced a crackdown on the crocodile gangs terrorising innocent Queenslanders.
Attorney-General Jarrod Bleeeeeujie said the government was taking action in response to community concerns.
“The crocodile menace is making our waterways unsafe,” said Mr Bleeeeeujie. “There is an international network of these predators operating around the world, including the Nile Crocodiles in Africa, the Alligators in America and ocean-going affiliates like the Sharks, Killer Whales and the Giant Squid.”
“We are particularly concerned about reports the Mugger Crocodile from the Indian subcontinent may be becoming active in Queensland.”
Under the LNP government crackdown, any active crocodile caught by Queensland police will be subject to a mandatory 70 year jail term. In addition, any person seen sporting crocodile colours can be taken into custody.
The crackdown caused immediate chaos in Townsville, where local police arrested several hundred people at a basketball match involving the local NBL team, the Townsville Crocodiles. Mr Bleeeeeujie said that he hoped the arrests would show the public how serious the Newman government was about protecting Queenslanders from crocodiles and their supporters.
Mr Bleeeeeujie also announced a special task force to deal with the crocodile problem, to be headed by world famous crocodile-hater, Captain Hook.
