Bill Shorten’s push for greater public relevance has stalled after he failed to make it through the blind auditions of The Voice.

“I’m Bill from Melbourne.”
“I’m not doing much at the moment but I just wanted to be heard.”
Jessie J assured Mr Shorten that he had a promising voice but that it wasn’t quite strong or distinctive enough yet.
Ricky Martin wished Mr Shorten all the best in whatever field he decided to pursue.
Back in the green room with his family, Mr Shorten told Sonia Kruger that he was gutted about not being chosen.
“I really wanted to be on the Miliband brothers’ team,” he said.
