Tony Abbott to honour pre-election commitment to himself
0Prime Minister Tony Abbott has pledged to honour his pre-election commitment to do whatever he wants whenever he wants to.
Mr Abbott reasserted his commitment to himself after his government was accused of not honouring a pre-election promise to support the Gonski school funding plan.
“No one in my government even knows what a Gonski is,” said the Prime Minister. “We are going to keep the promise that we actually made, not the promise that some people thought that we made, or the promise that some people might have liked us to make.”
Mr Abbott once again assured the Australian people that there would be no broken promises under his Coalition government.
“The previous Labor government believed in things like the carbon tax and the mining tax, then broke their promises about them. Before the election I promised myself that I would do whatever it takes to get into power and stay there. My commitment to this promise is unwavering.”
