Australian entertainment lovers have been buoyed by news the Coalition is preparing to reboot the Tony Abbott franchise as early as next year.
The much-missed supervillain is expected to replace box office squib Malcolm Turnbull in the Coalition’s 2017 schedule.
“It’s a risky move but an exciting one,” says entertainment industry analyst By-George Industry.
“The Coalition has placed a lot of hope in the upcoming Turnbull v Shorten. But it’s hardly Batman v Superman, is it?”
“Whereas when you see Tony Abbott versus anything, you just wanna know what happens next.”
Mr Industry expects the Tony Abbott reboot to feature a smarter, nastier lead character, with snider wisecracks and more relentless violence.
“I think The Australian summarised it well when they described the original Tony Abbott as just too kind and too tolerant.”
“The rebooted Tony Abbott will probably be more like Deadpool – but times a million!”
Mr Industry says the internet is already behind the Tony Abbott reboot. Literally.
“Try googling ‘malcolm turnbull good prime minister’ and guess what you get?”
“Did you mean: tony abbott good prime minister!”
