Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has issued a statement clarifying his controversial comments about Scottish independence.
Mr Abbott explained he does not support a referendum to determine if Scotch Finger biscuits should be separated.
“Scotch Fingers are a union between two delicious shortbread biscuits,” said Mr Abbott.
“We should do all we can to help Scotch Fingers stay together.”
“The only people who win if you separate Scotch Finger biscuits are terrorists.”
“Because once you split them, everyone wants your other half.”
Supporters of Scottish independence have labelled Mr Abbott’s explanation “pretty crummy”.
