Angry Netflix users have signed an online petition calling for the President of the United States to stop Australia’s proposed Netflix tax.
“I don’t know what this Netflix tax is,” says petition organiser Sam Hidden, “but I’m dead against it.”
“It’s bad enough Australians have to pay for television content.”
“A tax on top is outrageous!”
Mr Hidden’s petition calls for US President Frank Underwood to do everything in his power to stop the Netflix tax from going ahead.
Over 20,000 Australians have already signed the Netflix tax petition.
A further half a million Australians are believed to have downloaded the petition for personal use.
President Underwood the man to kill Netflix tax
Mr Hidden says most Australians don’t care what steps the President of the United States has to take, as long as the Netflix tax is stopped once and for all.
“We’re not necessarily demanding that Frank Underwood have members of the Australian government killed,” says Mr Hidden.
“All we’re asking is that the President and his wife engineer a nefarious behind-the-scenes scheme that forces the government of Australia to step down of its own accord so that we all get what we want.”
A recent online poll confirms that a majority of Australian voters believe that affordable access to Netflix series like House of Cards is a more pressing issue than climate change.
89% of those polled also believe that President Underwood is a more effective world leader than Tony Abbott.
