After accurately predicting the results of this month’s Triple J Hottest 100 countdown, the creator of the Warmest 100 website has turned his sights to this September’s Federal Election.
“Obviously picking the winner of the Federal Election is a lot harder than working out which 99 songs will come in after Thrift Shop,” said online marketer Nick Drewe. “Based on the Letters to the Editor in The Australian it looks like Tony Abbott should win with 95% of the vote. On the other hand, all the Facebook memes suggest that no one is voting Liberal at all. Bugger if I know how my program is going to work out a winner. It was so much easier when Triple J just let everyone publicly announce their votes.”
Corporate bookmakers have responded to Drewe’s announcement by suspending all betting on the election result.
“We’ve got to play safe,” said a representative of one of Australia’s largest corporates. “If the bloke who predicted 90 odd of the 100 Triple J songs has got the election down to a two-horse race, you gotta respect that.”
